First visit, but not my last. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, squirrels running around outside and the various bird life. Fishing was very good. not huge fish but plenty of them. Lodge was well equipped with every thing you may need. Bideford is a pleasnt town, but only ventured out once to stock up on food. Why go out !! Will be back next year.
Our first visit to valleyview and throughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and husband enjoyed the fishing. Lodge was lovely and cosy and hot tub was perfect. Plenty to do in the area and coach and horses in the village was good for evening meal.
Will be back again for a relaxing break. Thank you Richard, Elaine and Fiona for a warm welcome and perfect hosts.
We had our first stay here and enjoyed all things there. Fishing was very good even though the weather was cold. caught on corn, pellet and maggot. Lodge was great warm and cosy with everything we needed. The hot tub was well used by the girls. There is lots to do in the area. Recommend the Union pub near by.
Our 2nd time staying at Valleyview and again it did not disappoint. Its the perfect place to just wind down and relax. I'm sure we'll be going back for a 3rd time.
Had a great 10 nights in Heron lodge. Lodge was lovely and clean and spacious, small thing no hairdryer, but got one from ASDA so soon sorted. We were blessed with the weather and the fishing, it is so peaceful great to chill and unwind. I have never seen so many fish and bird watching the feeders was an added bonus. Booked again for next year and can’t wait.
Thank you for a wonderful 4 night stay, the only negatives were that we had to leave! We loved the fishing, exploring the Tark Trail on our bikes and of course the bubbles in the hot tub. We stayed in Heron which was so lovely and spacious. We met Richard who was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Can highly recommend the Coach and Horses for food too, just a few minutes up the road. Now we can't wait to come back x

Had a great 2 weeks at Valley View in Moorhen lodge. The accomodation was spacious and very well equipped with all we needed. The bed was super comfy and the hot tub was superb. The view across the lake was lovely with an abundance of birds. There is a really nice short walk from the site up the valley along the river.
There are lots of places to visit nearby including the Tarka trail for walking and cycling as far as you like. Thanks to Richard, Elaine and Fiona who were awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.

We had a very peaceful few days, although it rain off and on the fishing was excellent, caught the usual carp of various sizes, lots of silvers too, didn't get any photos this time due to the weather, the lodge was very spacious and well presented, also very clean, we both slept well after the first night, enjoyed using the hot tub, hope to visit again in the future, as this was our second time this year,
We really enjoyed our stay at Valley View despite it being cut short due to a leg injury (own stupidity). The fishing was really good and the lakes had fish in abundance. The birds that visited our bird feeder daily were varied. We loved the hot tub and were even visited by a couple of toads on the decking area when we used it one evening. The lodges themselves are lovely with everything you could need provided. Richard and Fiona were lovely and helpful. We intend to return once the leg is out of plaster.
We had a wonderful week at heron lodge.my son and grandson loved the fishing and were out from dawn til dusk.
My grand daughter and I enjoyed the wild life, mallard, moorhen, kingfisher and woodpecker were all spotted from our decking. At dusk the bats flew off and returned at dawn giving a superb aerial display over the lake. It was a very peaceful week and we will no doubt come back.
We spent a lovely 7 nights here, fishing relaxing and chilling in hot tub at night. Great place to switch of from work. We stayed at the end lodge beside the woods, perfect little bit of grass at the front. I would sit on the balcony listening to the stream. Ducks visiting each morning, and the birds.
The lodge had everything we needed.

As I mentioned in the guest book at the lodge, we enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher Lodge which was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. The peace and quiet and privacy of the lake afforded all the fishing my husbnd could wish for " on the doorstep" We would have no hestiation in recommending a stay at Valley View. We had a really restful week 17th to 23rd may 2025, the weather was excellent, the Lodge was well equipped, very spacious, and very clean, we enjoyed using the hot tub, the fishing was excellent first lake was a bite every chuck, the second lake was harder but very enjoyable, good sized fish in both lakes.
Thanks for a lovely break at valley view , myself and the Two Tony’s had a great weeks fishing .
Lots of good condition fish .

We spent our Easter break at this wonderful lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better getaway! The lodge was cozy, clean, and beautifully tucked away in nature—perfect for a peaceful holiday escape.
We loved starting our mornings with coffee on the porch, enjoying the fresh air and quiet surroundings. The nearby fishing was a big hit—relaxing, fun, and a great way to spend the afternoons. Afterward, soaking in the hot tub under the evening sky was the perfect way to unwind.
The hosts thought of everything, and the whole experience felt like a true retreat from the everyday. It was a perfect mix of outdoor adventure and relaxing comfort. We’re already talking about coming back next year!
My son (8yrs) and I had a great long weekend.
The weather was great for early April and we didn't do much other than fish and enjoy the wildlife & peace and quiet. The fishing is really good and all are in perfect condition due to exclusivity of the venue.
The time past, way to quickly. We throughly enjoyed it although still debating you caught the biggest ....
